Professional Supervision
Why Professional Supervision?
Supervision creates space for people centred practitioners to engage in reflective conversations with a skilled Supervisor. It is an invitation into intentional pause. Throughout the Supervision conversations, Supervisees are encouraged to ‘look again’ at their context, systems, and practice and to embrace transformational learning.
“Supervision interrupts practice. It wakes us up to what we are doing. When we are alive to what we are doing we wake up to what is, instead of falling asleep in the comfort stories of clinical routines and daily practice.”
- Sheila Ryan
How does Professional Supervision work?
In order to create an effective working relationship it is important to find a Supervisor that you feel comfortable and safe with. Your first supervision is an opportunity to get to know Erin and learn a little about how supervision works and Erin’s individual methods and strategies for providing a transformational space.
Supervision is most effective when it is frequent and consistent. Supervision conversations are 60 minutes and can occur over Zoom or in person. There is nothing to prepare for a supervision session, but Supervisees are invited to bring a story, event or experience from their practice to critically reflect on together.
